More Clinical Trial Access for Veterans

In an effort to give more veterans access to clinical trials with cutting-edge therapies they might not otherwise have access to, the National Association of Veterans' Research and Education Foundation has set up the Access to Clinical Trials (ACT) for Veterans initiative.
Speaking of clinical trials, the National Association of Veterans’ Research and Education Foundations (NAVREF) CEO Rick Starrs says, "They give patients access to cutting-edge therapies that they might not otherwise have access to."
Veterans often suffer from conditions such as traumatic brain injuries, chronic pain, cancer, PTSD, spinal cord injuries, and others, for which clinical trials are often the "standard of care."
One of NAVREF'S goals is to help the VA reduce its clinical startup times by as much as 100 days.
