Time Committments

Clinical trials are typically conducted locally, meaning you need to attend the site on a weekly or monthly basis. You may even be asked to stay overnight. Trials may last for a few weeks, several months, or even many years. Each trial will have its own time commitments, and you should make sure you can accommodate their schedule before committing to the trial.

That being said, you may leave a trial at any time, for any reason, even though you have signed an informed consent form.

Clinical trials have strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, and you will have to meet their requirements for the trial to be included.

Some trials use a placebo in order to compare a control group against a study drug, so you may receive no treatment at all during a clinical trial.
