Research Shows this 3-Drug Combo Works for Covid-19

body. A clinical trial testing the drug combination interferon beta-1b, lopinavir-ritonavir, and ribavirin when used in combination, can rid COVID-19 from your body in just 7 days. This research is a major step in solving the COVID-19 crisis for victims as well as those yet unaffected.



The research was published in The Lancet on May 8th, 2020. 127 participants were recruited from six hospitals in Hong Kong and China. Each individual was tested for SARS-CoV-2 and all had positive results. A 14-day treatment plan was issued with a regimen in place for all patients. Each patient in the combination group was given various amounts of lopinavir, ritonavir, and ribavirin ever 12 hours, as well as getting 8 million international units of interferon beta-1b on selected days.

The average time it took to clear the virus from the combination group took only 7 days. Lead researcher Prof. Kwok-Yung Yuen stated these trials demonstrate treatment for only mild-to-moderate cases of COVID-19. This is a major breakthrough in treating COVID-19 and points to a potential cure.
