The applicant must have Board certification or be Board eligible (within their stated field) and have an academic staff appointment.
Applicants must have achieved such no more than 3 years prior to the date of application.
Applicants must have a full-time faculty appointment at a University or other accredited institution of higher learning.
Applicants must not have already received extramural (external) funding >$40,000 for the same period from any other granting agency. Simultaneous internal funding for the recipient's institution/department is permitted if it is not for the same or closely related research.
Other info: The purpose of this grant is to support research utilizing MCS that would result in an increased understanding of the biologic effects, use as sole or combined therapy, insights into patient/MCS management, innovative use/application or improved outcomes for the treatment of heart failure.
